HEY WORRY WART…….Did you know that your Mind and Body is actually connected?

My Great Grandmother, Gran Evans would always know how to slow my mother down, and me being a child of a busy mother who people pleased and never stopped, never sat down and always treated herself last.

My Great Gran would always say, “Slow down, what’s the rush?” “Just sit here and chew the fat with me.”

She was right, it’s in the moments of conversation and spending time with people, sharing your heart that you get the greatest insights and memories. She also said, “Your Health is your Wealth.”

I am a big believer that your mind and body are connected. Worriers tend to spend a lot of their energy in their mind on thoughts that may not serve us. As a worrier, I have learnt to expend as much energy as I can on exercise to stay in my body and burn off any extra energy.

It is also important to note that your gut health is important.

On a spiritual level, your gut is your emotional centre.. Have you ever heard of the expression, ‘trust your gut”? Or, “what does your gut tell you?”

I recommend:

  • Start the day with a 20 minute exercise routine – it could be an AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible or tabata (20 seconds on, 10 seconds off or even a simple walk/run/cycle/swim). Just get your blood flowing, heart rate up and connect in with your body.

  • Drink a glass of hot water, chilled with some cool water and fresh lemon squeezed in – this is great for your metabolism and gut health, some people use digestible essential oils in their water.

Congratulations on your book Jacqeueline! I do believe worry is a killer. My mum died from lung cancer, even though she never smoked, ate organic food where possible, and avoided putting chemicals on her body. She was a worrier and had lots of gut issues. She fits this profile. It's a very important message!
